Q: What football league do the Jr. Wolves play in?

A: The Jr. Wolves play in the Pikes Peak Pop Warner football league.
Pikes Peak Pop Warner (PPPW) is a 501c (3) non-profit league in the Southwest Region of the National Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. program. PPPW OVERSEES all of Pop Warner programs in Southern Colorado located in Colorado Springs, Monument, Fountain, Widefield, Woodland Park, Buena Vista and La Juanta. PPPW is a nationally recognized football and cheer organization serving student athletes ages 5-15 years old. While we believe our on-field performance sets us aside from our counterparts, it is our academic prowess that is of greatest importance to the league and our associations. Pop Warner nationally and PPPW locally, are the only organizations to mandate minimum grade standards and scholastic recognition. Our various associations have posted on-field successes that cannot be listed briefly here and are best articulated by our associations themselves. Annually, PPPW produces State, Regional and National Contenders with the pinnacle being the National Championship, held at the ESPN Complex in Disney. In coordination with our focus academics and on-field excellence, we take the SAFETY of our student athletes as our top priority. All volunteers are required to complete a background check and “Heads Up” or YCADA certified. Our student athletes get a real football and cheer experience with 100 yard fields, high school referees and state wide scheduling.

Q: Does the registration fee include equipment?

A: Players are required to provide their own protective equipment including a helmet, shoulder pads, football pants, athletic cup, and cleats.

Q: What uniform colors do the Jr. Wolves wear?

A: The Jr. Wolves wear Carolina blue jerseys, black pants, Carolina blue socks, and have mat black helmets.

Q: My football player has a different color helmet from another team that still fits.  Can they wear that and play for the Jr. Wolves?

A: We would like to stay uniform as an organization.  That being said, we have had several players paint their existing helmets so they could still use them.  We would be more then willing to show you how to do this or provide resources to get the helmet painted.  We won’t turn an athlete away because of helmet color.

Q: Where do the Jr. Wolves practice?

A: The Jr. Wolves have practiced at local parks in the neighborhoods east of Powers between North Carefree Circle and Stetson Hills Boulevard.  While this will remain consistent for fall 2016 an exact location will be determined closer to the beginning of practices.

Q: What is the practice/game commitment in terms of time for Jr. Wolves football players?

A: Historically the Jr. Wolves have practiced on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.  Games are played on the weekend.  While we expect a commitment from our athletes we are willing to work with our athletes and parents if conflicts arise.   Carpools are a common way to take some of the commitment off the parents.
